On Saturday, September 24th, Element Entertainment is very proud and excited to present the legendary Barry Jamieson for a very rare and special 3 hour performance in an intimate setting at The Galaxy Lounge in Johnson City, TN. Barry hails from the UK by way of New York City and has gained notoriety for producing some of the finest and most influential Electronic Dance Music of the last two decades. Having worked alongside some of the Artists that have shaped today’s ever advancing music scene, Barry is no stranger to applying his limitless ability to both the commercial and the underground realm. Artists as diverse as Madonna, Britney Spears, New Order, Depeche Mode, Faithless, Seal, Boy George, ABC, The Doves, M83, Ladytron, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, and UNKLE can be counted as collaborators, as well as pioneers of the dance floor such as Sasha, Charlie May, Damian Lazarus and John Digweed. Over the past twenty-two years, he has recorded and mixed over 400 records. If that isn't enough, Barry was nominated with Bill Hamel for a Grammy in 2004 (Best Remix) for the track "Get Together" by Seal, and has also produced for the TV shows "Crime Scene Investigation" (CSI), "CSI Miami", and "CSI New York", with Sasha.

Also on his already impressive résumé are composition and production credits for video game companies Electronic Arts (EA Games) and Sega, winning Best Extreme Sports Soundtrack at the Sundance Film Festival, Xdance Awards in 2008 with Sasha, and winning Best Mix Compilation in the UK's DJ Mag Awards alongside Sasha for "Involver 2" in 2008.

In the past, Barry Jamieson was co-owner of Fluid Recordings UK Limited, and one half of Evolution, Bluefish, Arrakis, JB, and Escape. He started his musical career way back in 1986, when Evolution was first formed with Jon Sutton. Their first single “Came Outa Nowhere” was released on their early record label Positive Vinyl. They called on the services of a young DJ who was starting to make a name for himself to remix the track. His name was Sasha, and it was his first ever venture into the recording world. As you might have guessed, it was the start of a great friendship. Along with Charlie May (Spooky), he has been the producer recording and mixing all of Sasha's work since 2003, including the ground-breaking "Involver", "Fundacion" and "Invol2ver" (Involver 2) albums.

As one half of Evolution, he had built up quite a reputation over the years with hit singles such as “Love Is Calling”, “Phoenix”, and the massive “Walking on Fire” of 2003. Barry (and his past production partner Jon Sutton) had also been responsible for some great remixes over the past 10 years. These include BT's “Quark” and “Dreaming”, Bedrock's “Heaven Scent” (on the soundtrack for the movie "Groove"), and Breeder's “Tyrantanic”, to name but a few.

Barry has always been very much involved in every aspect of the music industry from engineering and co-producing nearly all the tracks released on Fluid, to putting out quite a few of the classic tracks for which Fluid had become renowned. Tracks such as Arrakis' “Aira Force”, Escape's “Cascade”, JB's “Lazy Dayz”, and of course, the infamous “Phoenix” by Evolution, which was featured on the very first Sasha and Digweed “Northern Exposure" album.

Currently, Barry has started a new label called Circular Sound Recordings, and is releasing some soon to be classic tunes ("Deckstomper" and "The Sound", among others), that have received huge support from Laurent Garnier, Slam, Joris Voorn, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Cid Inc, Chris Milo (DJ Three), Terry Francis, Chris Fortier, John Digweed, and the list goes on.

Prepare, as Element again provides world-class talent to the Tri-Cities and beyond!

Due to a last minute (and out of our control) change in musical direction of the club, GRIND has been cancelled. (The owner decided switch to 80s music on Saturday nights and cancelled every Saturday night event scheduled, starting with GRIND.)
We were very excited to have the chance to bring Nashville a night of cool progressive music and awesome DJs; unfortunately this is no longer possible at this location. When we find another location to bring you this monthly event, we will let you know.

THE WAILERS BAND BIOGRAPHY

Together with Bob Marley, the Wailers have sold in excess of 250
million albums worldwide. In England alone, they’ve notched up over
twenty chart hits, including seven Top 10 entries. Outside of their
groundbreaking work with Marley, the Wailers have also played or
performed with international acts like Sting, the Fugees, Stevie
Wonder, Carlos Santana, and Alpha Blondy, as well as reggae legends
such as Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Burning Spear. As the greatest
living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition, the Wailers have
completed innumerable other tours, playing to an estimated 24 million
people across the globe. They have also been the first reggae band to
tour new territories on many occasions, including Africa and the Far
East.
Their nucleus formed in 1969, when Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and
Peter Tosh recruited the Barrett brothers – bassist Aston “Family Man”
and drummer Carly – from Lee Perry’s Upsetters to play on hits such
as Lively Up Yourself, Trenchtown Rock, Duppy Conqueror, and many
more besides. Inspired by Rastafari and their ambitions of reaching an
international audience, this is the line-up that pioneered roots rock
reggae, and signed to Island Records in 1971. Bunny and Peter left
two years later. It was at this point that the in-demand Barrett
brothers – whose rhythms also underpinned innumerable seventies’
reggae hits by other acts – assumed the title of Wailers, and backed
Marley on the group’s international breakthrough album, Natty Dread.
Under Family Man’s musical leadership, they then partnered Bob
Marley on the succession of hit singles and albums that made him a
global icon, winner of several Lifetime Achievement awards, and
Jamaica’s best-loved musical superstar.
Drummer Carlton “Carlie” Barrett died in 1987, leaving his brother as
the main beneficiary of the Wailers' mantle. Subsequent line-ups have
revolved around Family Man, who is widely regarded as one of the
world’s greatest bass players. Modest and unassuming, he was present
on all of those unforgettable performances by Bob Marley & The
Wailers from the seventies. Family Man continues to be the main axis of
the current Wailers – a group that’s one of the last, great
reggae institutions, yet which refuses to live off past glories. That’s
because Family Man represents tried and trusted roots authenticity and, along
with the Wailers, injects fresh excitement into a show that continues
to attract enthusiastic audiences from around the world.
Be on the lookout for a new Wailers’ album featuring some
of the biggest names in popular music. Prepare to be amazed!

We have some great talent in store for you, including Mark B. from Knoxville's famous (or infamous) afterhours club, HeadRoom. Mark will be mixing it up with a bit of good ol' fashioned Tennessee Tekner with a Detroit twist!
Also in store is Tulipa Recordings' own Will McGlone, with his hypnotic and melodic Techno and Progressive. Rounding out the night with some deep Tribal House is Alterity from Cincinnati's In The Groove Productions.

Due to unfortunate circumstances beyond our control, Shweez and Kendo, of Labcoat will not be performing in Nashville tomorrow. Again we, sincerely, apologize, but this is completely out of our hands, but the rest of the party will be in full swing, and we look forward to smashing this night!

BOOKWORM

Hidden away in an unassuming mountain valley at the end of a winding gravel road, a sound has been brewing slowly and deliberately. A sum of many influences, moods and experiences – a collection of songs has been carved out of both electronic and organic instrumental tones. Together these melodies play out like the soundtrack for an overcast winter's day – a time for reflection and occasionally introversion.
This body of work is Bookworm's debut album "Outnumbered by Colors" to be released through the Lab Coat collective of Asheville, North Carolina. Isaac LeFever, the composer behind Bookworm will be offering the EP in three installments during the first half of 2011 which includes "Part 1: Hue", "Part 2: Saturation" and "Part 3: Brightness".

JABLES

JP Maywald – better known by his beatsmith moniker Jables – is a Nashville, Tennessee born electronic music producer. Currently based out of Asheville, NC, Jables has set his attention on the pursuit of new rhythms by dabbling with a wide spectrum of sound and a myriad of different styles. With an entirely unstructured way about his work, every finished product falls into place in a methodical and distinct way; often bewildering people with odd timing and heavy use of peculiar rhythms and song structure.
On the live tip, Jables has been proud to share the stage with such artists/influences as Two Fresh, Nosaj Thing, Ana Sia, Devonwho, Alex B, Big Gigantic and Bookworm to name a few.

[Metalheadz/Bingo/Hospital/TruePlayaz/ClearSkyz/Eastside/

Jason Cambridge (aka A Sides) has been producing music since 1990 and has released well over 500 tracks to date across many of the scene’s biggest labels. In 2008 he established BassHead Music together with Juan BassHead to showcase the finest in dubstep and bass heavy beats. After a successful debut (feat. 12th Planet and Skream) there are releases lined up from Otto Von Schirach, Noah D feat. Einstein, Total Science and Datsik plus remixes being supplied by high profile artists such as Jakes, Break, DJ Sneak and Bassnectar. With a diverse music policy, encompassing not just dubstep but other bass-heavy beats, BassHead has some exciting projects in the making over the next 12 months.

He established his own label Eastside Records in 1996 and has since put out over 75 releases, including two compilation albums (Eastside Jamz Volumes 1 & 2) as well as the A Sides solo album "Follow The Groove." A highly accomplished engineer as well as an artist in his own right, A Sides has collaborated with the likes of Calibre, jazz musician Nathan Haines (under the guise of Sci-Clone) and most recently Makoto and DJ Marky. His long-standing partnership with MC Fats has borne some of his biggest tracks to date, including the massive hit "What U Don’t Know" which featured on A Sides’ debut long-player in 2003. To catch the pair performing live is to hear drum & bass at it’s finest, with the deep soul sound of MC Fats bringing the perfect complement to A Sides razor sharp beats.

With tracks released on many other labels such as Metalheadz, Valve, True Playaz, Bingo, Innerground, Reinforced, Advanced, Liq-weed Ganja and Hospital to name but a few, A Sides has a discography of truly epic proportions. A veteran of the scene from the early days, through hardcore to jungle to drum & bass, his influence has been immense. Over the years he’s taken on the role A&R for many labels, including of course his own imprints Fuze and Eastside, and was among the first to recognize and nurture the talent of producers such as Break.

A Sides has also recently added a digital arm to Eastside Records and made the entire back-catalogue available for mp3 download from digital store Beatport. He's also produced a mix CD for Twisted Individual's Liquid Allsorts label, featuring vocals from Deeizm as well as the track "Just Be" from the duo.

With a reputation for sets that are tight and technical sets as well diverse, A Sides is a natural ambassador for Rane Serato Scratch Live. From road-testing new equipment on performances across the globe to conducting workshops, such as those at Sun & Bass Festival in 2008 and Miami Winter Music Conference 2009, A Sides has strong links with the company and shares a forward-thinking outlook.

A Sides' career as a DJ continues to take him around the globe, clocking up airmiles with regular annual tours of Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Europe. A regular at high-profile events like Miami WMC and Sun & Bass festival in Sardinia, his passion for drum & bass is as strong as it ever as he represents the music he loves worldwide.
Everything's Nice Presents...Strictly Dubstep Vol 013

>>SKISM [Never Say Die / Rottun / Distiller / Wicky Lindows - UK]

'From the shadows, a man with cruel eyes surveys his grim work….'

In little over a year, the mysterious SkisM has rapidly
cemented himself onto the global Dubstep Map. Blasting onto
the scene with his now classic debut 'The Blank', SKisM's
tracks have since received support from the likes Pendulum,
Chase & Status, Scratch Perverts, Rusko, Nero and Plastician
to name but a few. He has remixed chart topping Dubstep
giants such as Excision & Datsik, as well as putting his
inimitable production style on the vocal talents of UK rappers
the Foreign Beggars & Envy.
Blazing trails through Club Nights all over the world, SKisM's
frantic 3 deck DJ Sets are gaining notoriety as fast as his
musical output. With upcoming tours of Australia, New
Zealand, South Africa, Europe & America, SKisM’s Dubplates &
Mixing skills have secured him a place amongst the busiest
DJs of the Dubstep Elite.
Anjunabeats Volume 8 World Tour

Above & Beyond – www.aboveandbeyond.nu / www.facebook.com/aboveandbeyond

There are trance DJs who can rock a party, a club, a festival. And there are acts that can write songs that will bring out the goose bumps in you. But there’s only one band that can do both: Above & Beyond.

With:

Jaytech - Canberra, Australia

In a world awash with carbon copy producers, 25-year-old James Cayzer aka Jaytech is a bright exception. Classically trained as a pianist and a perfectionist when it comes to programming, his unique blends of deep melodies and sunny electronic grooves are equally at home in the DJ sets of Sasha or Desyn Masiello as they are in the stadium headlining appearances of Above & Beyond.

>>>DARA - Planet Of The Drums/BreakbeatScience/SLI/Orgone/Moonshine
New York, NY....Drum&Bass

A member of the infamous Planet of the Drums crew alongside fellow drum ‘n bass pioneers AK1200, Dieselboy, & J Messinian, this Irish transplant has been a dominant figure in the U.S. drum ‘n bass scene since his arrival here in 1994. His discography includes 2 critically acclaimed full length artist albums, 8 DJ mix CDs, as well as numerous singles and remixes for artists such as Freq Nasty, Afrika Bambaata and Keoki. Dara co-founded the nation’s first & largest drum ‘n bass record store, Breakbeat Science, in NYC which doubles as his own imprint, Breakbeat Science Recordings. He has been featured in countless magazine articles and interviews both in the US and worldwide. He previously hosted one of the internet’s most popular drum ‘n bass broadcasts, Velocity, where he regularly interviewed leading drum ‘n bass artists such as Jonny L, Kemistry & Storm, Trace, Ed Rush, Optical, Hype, Andy C, Zinc, and many others. Dara’s long standing relationships with the world’s drum ‘n bass elite gives him access to an astounding amount of new and unreleased material. His brilliant recording endeavors along with his incessant touring markey by consistently awe-inspiring DJ sets have made him one of the most recognized and well respected DJs in the country.

>>>UFO! - Subhuman/Badman press Freestyle/PositionChrome/Assimilate
San Francisco...Dubstep

Drum'n'bass and Dubstep experimentalist UFO! pushes the limits of the genre with its self-described "Blade Runner funk," an intense blend of pounding assaults and sci-fi atmospherics.

Born Ed Garro, UFO! has released numerous singles on labels in both the United States and abroad, but first came to wide attention with the Enemy Infiltration single, released on Thermal Recordings in 1999. The string arrangement was so memorable that it was even sampled by the respected U.K. label Trouble on Vinyl for a release called Mission Control.

The Future Is Listening, UFO!'s full-length debut, was released on Thermal in 2002. The album layers out-of-control hydraulics, alien communications, and human artifacts over relentless breakbeats for an out-of-this world sound like an extraterrestrial attack. ~ Charles Spano, All Music Guide

>>>YOUR DIRTY HABIT - Play Me/System/SexCult/Re:Connect
Ft. Lauderdale, FL...Dubstep/ Electro

Your Dirty Habit has been added to Sex Cult, an imprint ran by Designer Drugs. The duo has an E.P. scheduled for release in early April featuring two original tracks. “Goin’ Down” and “How Hard” inform the party that it’s going down and then asks the patrons how hard can you give it to me? Which is ultimately answered by fanatic hand waving and distorted screams. In addition to these brutal tunes the E.P. features long time collaborators Trill Bass on “Goin’ Down” and will boast remixes by the likes of PLS DNT STP and more! Your Dirty Habit has remixes in the pipeline for Designer Drugs and the much talked about band Hussle Club as well so stay tuned!
T.Lectual & Summer

Tony and Brendon, two friends from the Midwest that share a strong passion for perfectionism and fine electronic music, are two phenoms that are established producers and DJ’s independently, but this past year they have made quite the buzz collectively, having their first collaboration charted by one of the biggest DJ’s in the world, Hernan Cattaneo, in his July 2010 Top 20 Chart.

Since then these two have taken off in the electronica scene with productions coming out on a slew of quality labels such as Baroque, Eevonext, Silence Through Music, Regular, and Stripped to name only a few. They're tracks are also being supported by top DJ's such as Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Warren.

They're solo projects include Tulipa Recordings, which is run by Brendon (Summer), and Intellectual Mastering, a mastering studio which is run by Tony (T.Lectual).

So to say the least, these gents work pretty well together.

For Los Angeles bassline technician BARE, aka Sean Rodela, 2010 will be fondly remembered as the year his twisted face melting sickness exploded into a worldwide epidemic. Taking the dubstep scene by storm with his staggering studio output and electrifying live performances, there is no question BARE has clawed his way into the ranks of the bass music elite - and he’s not going anywhere. If you don’t know, time to get to know…

BARE’s dedication to bass music was recently rewarded with the title of “Best New Dubstep Artist of 2010” by Beatport. Knowledge Magazine recently described BARE as “revolutionizing the sound of dubstep with his elegant and melodic structures, that will surely fool you once his dirty down-south-like grimey basslines get your body moving with sheer excitement.” Across the pond, the BARE sound recently caught the attention of Virus Syndicate DJ/producer MRK1 – as a result, three BARE tracks (including the dancefloor annihilating “Like a G6” rework) were chosen to represent the VS crew in the BBC Radio One Dubstep Soundclash (leading the VS crew to declare themselves victorious). A release/remix on MRK1’s Contagious imprint is one of many projects slated for the new year.
Josh Gard aka Figure is helping the Midwest make a new name for itself. Balancing his production with Bassline , Dubstep and House, there is no way to ignore the self movement he is creating. His tracks are consistently featured on the likes of BBC radio and are invading the sets of some of the worlds leaders in dance music. With a number of well-received releases on respected labels and enlisted by such legends as Bart B More , Diplo , Calvertron ,Tommie Sunshine , and Kissy Sell out for remixes. Figure is about to strengthen the claim that he just may be the most prolific Bass-line artist in North America.

DERRICK CARTER

Quote

One of the pinnacles of Chicago house music's '90s wave, Derrick Carter began DJ’ing at the age of nine, spinning disco records at family reunions. Born and raised in the western suburbs, Carter was into music from a young age, but during his teens Chicago's house scene sucked him in for good. Before long Carter became a strong presence in the city's underground dance scene. "When I got my driver's license at 16 my sneak ability was validated," he laughs. "I was a fierce bedroom jock for a long time. After you mix for the love of it for six or seven years, you get it pretty tight and you can take it on the road." He got by working at dance-music specialty stores like Gramaphone and gigging at parties. Later he landed regular DJ stints at Shelter, Foxy's, and Smart Bar. Though he doesn't spin much locally anymore, when he does he attracts large crowds. Most of the time he works in Europe, where he's become a minor celebrity among dance-music aficionados :

“Its hard not to laugh on the occaisions when you’ll make 20 times what you make in Chicago on a Saturday night, but back home there are also times when you just do it for fun… So many people come up to me and say ‘Man, I had the worst day, My girlfriend left me, I locked my keys in my car, but you turned it around for two hours, and that made me able to get up in the morning’ That’s the best thing going.”

Derrick’s sets are rooted in house, but he freely travels outside club tastes, seamlessly incorporating old-school disco, soul, jazz and whatever catches his fancy.
His debut single "Love Me Right" appeared in 1987, just after he graduated from college. Another single ("Symbols and Instruments" as Mood) appeared in 1989, but the Chicago house scene faded soon after, leaving Carter and other artists with few to play for except themselves.

Thanks in part to Cajmere's and Felix Da Housecat's respective labels (Relief, Radikal Fear), Chicago house made a comeback during the mid-'90s and began to offer impressive newcomers in addition to the old guard. Carter, recording for the Organico label, returned with several singles, and an album as Sound Patrol. In 1995, he began working with a live band as the Sound Patrol Orchestra.
Several mix albums have appeared, including Cosmic Disco on MixMag and Pagan Offering on Pagan. Carter has also founded two labels (Blue Cucaracha and Classic) and remixed tracks from Chicago's own post-rock heroes Tortoise. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
Since then pioneering, innovative tracks and consequent critical acclaim have repeatedly marked Derrick out as once of the most important players in Dance music.
Carter says that due to his growing notoriety his production talents have been requested by pop-oriented acts. But he prefers to remain underground. Although enthused about his own Blue Cucaracha label and a new UK-based imprint he runs called Classic, he's reluctant to offer much explanation of either label's MO--other than each releases records when the mood strikes him:

"I like to keep myself pretty invisible. You may think I'm somewhere, but I've already left."

With a number of well-received releases on respected labels and enlisted by such legends as Bart B More , Diplo , Calvertron ,Tommie Sunshine , and Kissy Sell out for remixes Figure is about to strengthen the claim that he just may be the most prolific Bass-line artist in North America.
Sam-me (Madhouse)

If you can remember back to February 2004, the Audity Central crew brought a little known band named TORTURED SOUL to Nashville for a live set at The End. That night, musical history was made as Tortured Soul played a set that is still talked about as one of the best nights that Nashville nightlife has ever seen! Well, true to their reputation of always bringing the best talent, the Elevator Music Collective are extremely proud to bring the boys back to Music City for another night of history making!

Combining elements of old soul and funk with a modern dancefloor sensibility, Tortured Soul’s style is both an echo of the past and a challenge to the future. This blend of sounds has won them praise from palettes as diverse as Lenny Kravitz and Barry Manilow, and made them a fave pick of DJ’s across many genres. If you love bands like Jamiroquai, then you owe it to yourself to get down to Tortured Soul's funky sound!
He distinctly remembers the countless nights snuck out and hit Atlanta's local skate spots where his rep grew bigger for pushing big tricks. At the age of sixteen, Josh..s passion for both music and tricks met the world of turntablism and Klever was born.

Growing up with a hip hop background, Klever studied djs like Premiere, Cash Money, Afrika Bambaataa and Jazzy Jeff for their mixing and scratching arrangements even as a youngster; but he was also heavily influenced by the wilds of Atlanta and was a regular attendee of Freaknik. There he was intrigued by the booty music of Luke, 2 Live Crew, and Kilo.By 1997, Klever began relentlessly competing in every local competition possible where he linked up with the Third World Citizens - Faust, Shortee, Shotgun, Craze, and T-Rock. In 2000, Klever seized the national DMC championship title and while at the international DMC competition, he was inducted into the world famous Allies crew, consisting of world-renowned turntablists such as Craze and A-Trak. Shortly after, Klever began traveling the globe a lot with Craze during so, the two released a now cult classic .. Scratch Nerds... Klever began to produce prominent break records for battle djs and producers. In 2001, Klev successfully defended his national DMC title. He then represented the states in London for the international tiltle. Later that year, he also took national ITF title in San Fransisco. In the past 5 years, Klever has been performing his signature sets non-stop around the world (Taiwan, England, Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Scandinavia, Australia, Japan, etc). He consistently amazes crowds and party-goers from 60 to 60,000 at world renowned venues such as (but not limited to) Miami..s Ice Palace, Tai Pae..s Ministry of Sound, NYC..s Roxy and Irving Plaza, Club Fabric in London, numerous House of Blues venues throughout the U.S., El Rey Theatre in L.A., and Atlanta..s Tabernacle. He has also showcased his skills at monumental events like the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the Canadian Circa Skateboard Tour, Audiotistic in L.A., and the High Museum in Atlanta. Klever has seen the future of his hometown because he paints it. Beyond his accredited mastery as a turntablist, his ability to combine crowd-roaring routines and mix sets with his signature party rocking steez has established his name throughout the
dj circuit as ..tomorrows dj...

He has released several mix CDs He also two immensely popular records with DJ SHOTGUN (former dj for Goodie Mob), Dirty South Breaks and Get Crunk Breaks. More commercially, his talent can be also heard on various production: Rob Swift..s (X-ecutioners) album - Sound Event, Bubba Sparxxx.. - Deliverance. To NBA BALLERS 2: PHENOM. KLEVER's skills have been featured in numerous DVDs: the film Scratch A-TRAK..s Sunglasses are a Must, Stanton..s - Step-By-Step (instructional), Tableturn..s - A Great Day In Turntablism.
Jimi Frtz...or Jersey for short, has been in the Birmingham scene for awhile now and you've probably seen him on UAB campus with his trademark red beanie or Phillies hat (Rain or Shine). :::::ED RUSH & OPTICAL::::[London , UK] Virus recordings
http://www.myspace.com/edrushvirus

This pair from London needs no introduction, but for those who have been living under a rock, Ed Rush & Optical are some of the hottest names of all time in drum and bass music. The originators to bring back the dark sounds of drum and bass and push them to new levels, Ed Rush & Optical still continue to make a massive impact with each release until this very day. Most known for their seminal label 'Virus' recordings and their Debut LP 'Wormhole' which changed drum and bass music as we know it today, their first release was "Medicine/Punchbag," two tracks marked with technically precise drum programming along with a distorted, low, and crunchy bass line. Then they followed with the eventual EP, Wormhole in 1998, which was released to critical and underground success, as the sounds from that album again redefined the direction drum and bass was headed, and solidified their status as the forerunners of the new sound of drum and bass. They have continued on this innovation in recent years by collaborating with the likes of Noisia , Matrix, Audio + more. It seems as over the span of the last 15 years, Ed rush and Optical have been some of the most consistent names there is in underground dance music, having written countless anthems played by every top Dj across the globe , as well as maintaining to be one of the most sought after Dj acts at festivals and clubs alike. Do not miss their first ever Nashville appearance as we kick off 2011 with the largest drum and bass act in Nashville to date!
http://www.myspace.com/djshiftee

On Sept. 12, 2009, Shiftee represented the USA in the 2009 DMC World DJ Finals. He took the title, was automatically inducted into the DMC DJ Hall of Fame and brought the fabled gold Technics turntables back to NYC. This new title places his name alongside over 20+ legendary DMC World Champs including Craze, A-Trak, Cash Money, DJ Cheese, Rock Steady DJs (Apollo, Mix Master Mike & Q-Bert), Plus One of Jack Beats, and the late Grand Master Roc Raida. In 2007, Shiftee also became the only American DJ to date to have won the DMC Battle for World Supremacy title. This victory served as the catalyst for widespread international recognition, allowing Shiftee to take his talent and creativity across Asia, Europe, and the US to some of the world's biggest clubs and most prestigious venues. Along the way, he has performed on show lineups including A-Trak, Craze, Klever, Dieselboy, DJ Funk, Cash Money, The Roots, Talib Kweli, RJD2, Murs, The Beat Junkies, X-ecutioners, Q-Bert, Z-Trip, and more.
When he's not teaching the DJ art form at New York University (as an adjunct professor) and Dubspot DJ & Production School in NYC, Shiftee spends his time figuring out new and innovative ways to decimate the dancefloor.
Jae Kennedy has been a leader in American dance music from the start. Dj'ing early on in Philadelphia and New York, he met his match with Karl K and the new kid on the scene, Kaos. This trio soon got caught the attention of Dieselboy and subsequently formed one of the largest drum and bass acts ever to come out of America. Being the first artists ever to exclusively release music on Dieselboy's Human Imprint, this trio racked up smash remixes for the legendary Bad Company, Dom & Roland and more than a handful of instant classics. Look for the Jae Kennedy on the horizon with his new outfit Koldfront, as well as his new Dubstep/Drum and Bass crossover label 'Sinners and Saints'.
Everything's Nice & Household Management proudly present:

DUB THE HALLS NASHVILLE 2010!!

The DUB THE HALLS 2010 TOUR, presented by Household Management, is touching down in three Southeastern Markets this year in an effort to let as many people as possible experience the Bass!! On Thursday December 16, we invade Nashville, TN. Along with the help of our friends at EVERYTHINGS NICE PRODUCTIONS, we are bringing you four of the biggest names in Dubstep right now! NERO, PLASTICIAN, VIRUS SYNDICATE, and J.RABBIT!

Featuring FIRST TIME EVER NASHVILLE Appearances by none other than:

NERO
MTA Records/ Breakbeat Kaos http://www.myspace.com/nerouk // United Kingdom
NERO have become a big name in both the Drum & Bass and Dubstep scenes, often fusing both styles of music in their DJ sets. They started with DnB, joining DJ SS's Formation Records in the Summer of 2004. Since then Dan and Joe's tracks have caused quite a stir, gaining huge support from DJs like Andy C, Grooverider, and Friction, with a huge Remix of Deadmau5-"Ghosts & Stuff"as well as radio airplay from Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq and Fabio & Grooverider, to name just a few. In June 2006 Nero released their acclaimed EP, "Requiem EP" on Formation Records. The EP featured 4 top tracks, Requiem, Bitch I'm Gone, Autopsy and Bad For the Brain. High Contrast included Bitch I'm Gone in his mix for the legendary Fabric Live series, Fabric Live 25. 2009 saw Nero's first release on iconic label Breakbeat Kaos. The killer track 'Act Like You Know', backed with Sound in Motion and a dubstep edit of the title track, has been hitting dancefloors across the world for the last year and was picked up by Fresh and Adam F. Onto Dubstep, Nero's debut dubstep release, 'This Way feat. Alana', became one of the biggest dubstep tunes of 2008 and is still selling big units across the world. Since then, Nero's consistent releases have made them one of the most talked about acts in Dubstep the world over. Their remix of the Streets' tune 'Blinded by the Lights' was a massive radio hit as well as a dancefloor smasher played by DJ's from Chase and Status and Skream, to Tiesto and Diplo. More recently Nero have remixed La Roux and Deadmau5 to devastating effect. The boy's DJing career has also taken off this year, October saw an intensive gigging schedule which included supporting Deadmau5, Chase & Status and Zane Lowe on their UK tours. Nero have recently signed exclusively to Chase & Status' label MTA and are currently working on their debut album.

VIRUS SYNDICATE LIVE
Planet Mu // Manchester, United Kingdom
Virus Syndicate are Manchester’s premier urban music act that have set the standard for British rapping both lyrcally and in style. Following 2 albums on Planet Mu their reputation as the UK’s leading vocal dubstep, hip hop and grime outfit. The combination of producer MRK1’s inventive beat-making and MC’s JSD, Nika D, and Goldfinger, has attracted support from Liam Howlett, Tim Westwood, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Wiley. With comparisons to Dizzy Rascal, Wiley, and Kano, and praise from Hip Hop Connection to The Telegraph and The Guardian, it's no wonder why Virus are on the lips of everyone in the industry. This past summer saw the release of a trilogy of EPs on Contagious Records (under the Break Out Trilogy title). It included the hit single "Talk To Frank" which has appeared on the game changing "Cashmere Agency Presents Mr. Grustle & Tha Russian’s Dubstep LA: Embrace The Renaissance Vol. 1 mixed by Plastician" mixtape, as well as the hit UK Television series "Skins". Remixes from Scream, Digital Mysticks, and Benga, are all currently in the pipeline and collaborations with Mickey Slim, Starkey, Mowgli, Rossi B and Luca are all out or out soon.

PLASTICIAN
RinseFM, Terrorhythm Recordings, http://www.myspace.com/plastician // London, United Kingdom
Plastician returns to us again! We brought him for our first Dubascension show back in 2009 where he co-headlined with RUSKO and completely stole the show!! Plastician aka Chris Reed started DJ'ing in 1999 after gaining interest in the UK garage scene which was emerging on the pirate radio stations of London. He eventually gained the skills to earn himself a spot on a small pirate station called Desire FM, with a collective known as the Fearless Crew. After a few months of hard graft on Desire, Plastician and the rest of the crew moved onto South London based pirate, 2G FM - where they found a home for a good year before eventually splitting, leaving Chris to find his feet as a lone DJ. It was then that he became more involved in the music industry, getting himself a job at a distribution company called Streetsales - it was here he would gain knowledge of the way the industry worked from the inside, which led to him trying his hand at production - to further his career as a DJ by attracting more attention to his name. Plastician was then known as Plasticman, and he had various releases in 2002 on labels such as Soulja, Road, Slimzos and Contagious. He was fastly becoming a hot property in the newly emerging genre we now label as grime. 2003 was a big year for Chris, he earned himself a DJ set at the established night "FWD", and began to really establish himself as a DJ / Producer within both the dubstep and grime movements. Early in 2003, Terrorhythm Recordings was founded by The Plastician (still known as Plasticman then). It was an outlet for his own productions, with releases by himself and Mark One in the first year. After 6 months of FWD playouts and Terrorhythm releases, Rephlex took note of his production skills and signed him to their label for the release of the groundbreaking "Grime" compilation. He also gained a slot on Rinse FM, a station which boasts the discovery of artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Wiley and Roll Deep. 2004 saw The Plastician tour all over the globe - meaning he was the first UK artist to ever play dubstep or grime in many of the world’s major countries outside of the EU. This is following a good few years of touring and playing across Europe, solidifying his importance to the genres he represents. This trend has continued to this very day, as he remains one of the scene's biggest ambassadors. In 2005 Plasticman officially changed his name to The Plastician to avoid any confusion between him and Richie Hawtin, this name change was synchronised with his move from Rinse FM (London's biggest pirate radio station) to BBC Radio One, where he would host the station's first ever dedicated grime and dubstep show in the beginning of 2006. After spending 18 months at the BBC, Plastician moved back onto pirate radio station Rinse FM in 2007, beginning a show in his new Monday night slot with co-host and long time friend MC Nomad. The show rapidly became one of Rinse FM’s most listened to shows and has become staple listening for dubstep fans ever since the switch. 2008 saw the much delayed but highly anticipated release of Plastician’s debut album “Beg To Differ” on his own Terrorhythm imprint. Releases from Joker shortly followed on the label – another artist who has gone from strength to strength since his first releases. To this day Joker is still working closely with Terrorhythm where he is managed in house by co-owner Charles Holgate. With the much increased popularity of Dubstep in the UK market alone, Plastician has been extremely busy playing gigs all over the world in 2008 and 2009, with barely any time to work on music production his sets have become more galvanised and have been described by some publications as “surgically precise”. It is not unusual for Plastician to get through records at ridiculous pace, which is something he works on all of the time
J. RABBIT
Play Me Records, Party Like Us Records, Badman Press, Trillbass Records, Delorean Music Company // The Bronx, NYC
J. Rabbit has earned his way into the ranks of the Drum and Bass scene since his start in 2001. He has always been drawn to music, playing bass, guitar and piano throughout his childhood and high school years. With his musical background behind him and a new era of electronic music forming, he decided to move to New York City in 2005 which warmly welcomed his bass-pumping style. Shortly after moving to New York from California, J. Rabbit, or Jeff came into contact with such individuals as Jen Mas and DJ Psynikill, and after much hard work and dedication he was offered a spot in the NYC veteran crew Vitus Productions. He also started his own crew, Beats Anonymous Productions, with local DnB artist Funktipuss Jones. Their crew hosted a free Drum and Bass weekly in the heart of NYC, Times Square, from late ’06 to early ’07. Jeff has also been receiving support from other big names in the scene – DJ Dara, Terravita, Odi, DJ DB, and more. Starting out playing the dark tech style of DnB, he has evolved towards other styles such as dance floor, jump-up, wobble and dub. He has also been writing tunes for over 2 years now and is showing signs of a very promising future. He can be caught playing shows all across the Northeast United States and most recently Canada. With a history of throwing down the best dance floor rhythms, he is no doubt one artist that will rock the dance floor. He has also been spending every available hour in the studio perfecting that soon to be infamous J. Rabbit sound. Just this past week he dropped his "SexyTrilogy" group of EPs on THREE DIFFERENT LABELS at ONE TIME! The "Sexy Party EP" out now on Play Me Records, The "Sex Crimes EP" out now on Trillbass Records, and last but not least "Too Much Sexy EP" on none other then Badman Press. All of which are heavily charting, along with his remix of Borgore's "Ice Cream" available for free D/L now!

12th Planet

After conquering the world as drum and bass phenomenon Infiltrata, John Dadzie found a new name, a new sound and a new family in SMOG. Now incinerating dance floors under the moniker 12th Planet, he has become the most in demand dj in LA and quickly becoming America's first King of Dubstep . Like Nibiru, the mysterious orb of the ancients whose handle he shares, 12th Planet flies perpendicular to the system, choosing to rotate on his own orbit with off-axis beats and sets that always deliver.

Born and bred in LA, 12th Planet is a co-founder of the SMOG record label and the host of Dubtroit, a monthly night of dubstep in Orange County that headlines some of the world’s top producers in the genre and pulls in crowds from all over Southern California. His release “Control” featuring fellow SMOG member EMU on Basshead Records was remixed by Skream and became a widely known anthem and spread his name around the known universe. 12th Planet is a powerhouse with a packed tour schedule and a pocket full of tricks ready to lay like bricks on the heads on his loving audiences. Watch for this rising star on the upcoming release SMOG 005, where he and Vancouver’s Datsik give audiences a dangerous glimpse into the future of the dubstep sound.
His productions and DJ sets reflect his love and deep respect for World Music.
